There is method
to the madness. (Left) Steve explains the six things that happen when you have
weather helm and heel. Steve preaches a straight toe and balanced effort
approach to hiking. He points out that when you straighten your toes and get
your hiking strap height correct you can hold a straight leg hiked position more
consistently. Bend those toes back and it is nearly impossible to "keep 'em
straight" in all conditions. His boots have straps to keep them from pulling
off, his hiking strap uses a special acrylic that grips his hiking boots, his
hiking pants have 10.5" battens perfect balance between length and mobility. His
hiking bibs are designed to be worn with the straps crossed in the front. The
material in the back is less stretchy, the straps are designed to help you hold
the hike position. Steve's lycra shorts are worn over his hiking pants to allow
easier movement, just enough slip; they also protect the hikers against the
