At our request, Harken started building these for Walt and Layline last fall.

The Goal/purpose of this configuration is to be able to "flip" the Cam-Cleat arms of the block so they will assume a "higher" position presenting the cleat for a more "friendly" Vang operation. Think about the compromise you currently make in this regard.  1. With this block the angle is much better suited to the vang being cleated and uncleated by some one back in the boat, i.e. the Main trimmer. Think how nice it is not to have to pull 2 tenths worth of rail meat off the rail to adjust the vang. 2. Downwind in a blow with every one pressed back in the boat the vang can be "played" more easily...

Can be used inside any proper cascaded vang set up like the ones you find on any Quick Vang r or similar system.

We have had personal experience with this block sailing J24s to J105s and Olson 40s, it works!
